About me
I’m Verena Geleckyj, a sports scientist and training therapist.
From 2007 to 2011 I studied sports science, specialising in movement, health and fitness. In 2014 I was accredited as a training therapist and entered on the Austrian register of training therapists.
For more than ten years I worked as a training therapist at the Salzburg trauma hospital (Unfallkrankenhaus Salzburg) and the Salzburg state hospital (Landeskrankenhaus Salzburg). There I supported people through different stages of rehabilitation and saw how much movement, targeted training and a good understanding of your own body can do for health and quality of life.
At some point, the topic became personal.
In my late thirties I started noticing changes in my own body. Things suddenly felt different from before, and I wanted to understand why.
I began to look more closely at hormones, perimenopause and women’s health after 35. I read, researched, took further training and talked to many women around me.
I kept coming across the same thing. Many women noticed changes in themselves but couldn’t make sense of them. And what was often missing was exactly what I had been looking for myself: clear, well-founded information about what changes in a woman’s body during this phase of life.
The deeper I went, the clearer it became how closely everything is connected: hormones, sleep, stress, the nervous system, muscle mass, nutrition, recovery and long-term health.
Further training in blood diagnostics, micronutrients, hormones & women’s health and strength training has deepened my professional focus.
That is how FemBalance Living came about.
A digital health journal for women over 35, for women who want to understand their bodies better instead of simply accepting the changes.
My aim is to put scientific findings into clear context and turn them into knowledge that helps in real life.
Evidence-based. Easy to understand. No extremes. No pressure.
